من أهم المتون المنظومة في علم النحو وقواعد اللغة ” ألفية ابن مالك ” التي تزيد أبياتها على الألف، وقد تلقاها العلماء بالقبول حفظا وشرحا، حتى بلغت شروحها 127 شرحا، من أهمها شرح العلامة ابن عقيل بل هو أكثرها انتشارا وقد شرح الأبيات وحل ألغازها بضرب الأمثلة، ونقل الشواهد الشعرية والنثرية، وبيان مذاهب النحويين من كوفيين وبصريين وغيرهم مرجحا بينها . وكل ذلك بين الإيجاز والتطويل وقد نقلت في الهامش شروح للشواهد الشعرية وإعرابها، وزود الكتاب في آخره بفهارس علمية عامة

About The Book

One of the most referenced books in the study of Arabic Grammar is Imam Ibn Malik’s Alfiyyat or the 1000 poem line on Grammar (Nahw).

This poem form study book has been in use for the last 8 centuries and has been very successfully applied to the Islamic curriculum all around the world.

Now, this specific book is an explanation of the aforementioned work. This explanation (Sharh) stands out from all the other explanations (Shuruh).

The reason that this title is very popular is due to its scope of covering all the problematic terminologies as well as mentioning the difference of opinions that surrounds certain methods.

Thus this title has been known as Ibn ‘Aqils  Sharh on Alfiyyat of Ibn Malik.

About The Author

Qadi al-Quddat, al-Imam ‘Abd Allah Baha’u Din bin ‘Abd Allah Bin ‘Abdal Rahman bin ‘Abd Allah bin ‘Aqil, al-Qurshi, al-Hashimi al-‘Uqayli (descendant of ‘Uqayl bin Abi Talib) was born in Egypt on  a friday 9th of Muharram 698H.

He was one of the experts in the science of Arabic Grammar and was popular for this work mainly. He passed away on Wednesday evening 23rd of Rabi’ al-Awal 769H.
